Life In 24fps

The students at Victoria Film School were given the opportunity to compete in a film making competition which promised to boost their careers after graduation, with a feature length contract at Tigers Portal Productions- and a distribution deal as the award. The class split into two opposing teams, and was given the task of creating a five minute short, with one month to shoot and a $500.00 budget.

Jordan- an assistant at the school, and former student- is given the task of documenting the students as they attempt to complete their films on schedule, and maintain some sanity.

Team A exhibits a rag tag group of seven very different individuals as they beg, borrow and steal their way to the finishing line.

Jennifer Butchkin- the director of team A's film "The Rules Of Passion" guides the cast and crew through problem after problem, keeping a positive attitude through to the end, despite a shoot shut down, lack of props, a lack of extras, a slacker pot smoking producer, and incompetent actors and crew.

Team B is run by Ren Yun, the son of a wealthy entrepeneur who is given all of the access and money he needs to create "Raeptown," a cheesy CGI short.
Jordan's focus on Jennifer and her teamates is an insight to the hilarious circumstances that arise on set, from stealing props at a church thriftstore, to using a homeless buser to record the theme song in a downtown bathroom. Through the lens of Jordans camera we see film making- and life in 24 frames per second.
